Megan waiting for her Birthday to Come

Yesterday Megan was way excited for her Birthday to come and just couldn't handle it any longer. She told us that she wished it was that day. Then she went on to say "I wish my birthday were today, I have been waiting my WHOLE LIFE for my 6th Birthday."
You're great Megan. It has been such a long wait to get to the 6th birthday. I love you!!!!

Talking About Santa

Elizabeth: "Momma, Santa, milk? Momma Santa Cookies? Go see Santa, Hug?"

Mom: "Yes Santa loves milk and lots of cookies. Do you want to go see Santa so you can give him a hug this time?"

Elizabeth: "Noooooooooo!!!!!!!!"

Kaylee: "I want to go give Santa a hug this time because I know that he's just a good guy!!!!"

(We've seen Santa a couple different times, not to mention when she was younger. Now Santa is a good guy, I think mostly because we aren't around him.)

Soooooooo Tired.........

Well last night was the big night. We had a blast. I think I may not every recover the sleep I lost but oh well, it was worth having fun with friends. I don't have the laptop to upload photos so those will have to come later. I do have some pretty fun pics of all of us standing in line waiting to go in. Luckily we live in a small enough town that we didn't have to get in line hours and hours and hours before hand.

We met at my house and thought about having ice cream and brownies but all of us were full from dinner and just too excited so we had a taste and left at 10:20 to the theatre which is just a couple blocks from my house. We got there and there weren't too many people waiting. But within about 10-15 minutes it got pretty packed. They opened up 3 theatres to show the film.

A lot of Scott's High School students were there and so we conspired with them to help us sing Happy Birthday to our friend Amy. She was pretty surprised when everyone there joined in. Happy Birthday Amy.

Now on to the movie. It was good, I really liked it. I couldn't help giggling when all the teenage girls in the theatre(surprisingly I don't think they were the Majority) aahh and screamed a little when Jacob made his big first appearance. So funny. In the words of Larry the Cucumber from "Veggie Tales"..... "I laughed, I cried, It moved me Bob."

Definitely a fun movie to see. Even for husbands, the Wolves were HUUUUUUUUGGGGEEEE!!! I didn't get home until 2:45 and didn't get in bed until 3:00, kids were all up at 6:00, I was in and out of bed until 7:30 to run Megan to the bus stop. Surprisingly enough though I am not as tired as I thought I would be, this afternoon though I am sure I will crash!!!!!

I'll post pictures later tonight or tomorrow.

Twilight Truffles

My friend Sophie bought these when she went on a trip to Utah and got them for me because she knew we were going to the midnight showing and having a party before hand. If you can't read it says I creve (crave) Jacob or Edward. Awesome. I thought you all might enjoy seeing these. They are mint and raspberry truffles.

NEW MOON

Ok, first I better preface this that I am not a fanatic but I do like the books. I went with friends to see Twilight when it was in the Theatre. Well here is another Twilight series movie coming out and we are going to have a blast with it. A group of us bought our tickets a month or so ago and are very excited to have a girls night out.

We are meeting at my house before the show at 9:30 pm and are having an ice cream social and then we will be heading to the theatre to stand in line(hopefully not in the rain) at 11:00 pm so that we can be some of the first to see the show at 12:00 AM. Are we crazy or what. Scott keeps teasing me that I am so obsessed with Twilight but I must say he is the one who bought me the books. I hadn't even seen the trailer for the movie until the first of last week when I realized maybe I should see what the movie will be since I already have my ticket. My friend also gave me a copy of the People magazine that is totally devoted to the Twilight Series and the New Moon movie.

I think it will be funny because a big group of Scott's High School students will all be there and they keep telling Scott how excited they are to go. He keeps telling them that I will be there because I am Obsessed.

Funny story about Vampires and Scott. (Very cute too!!!) Last year I mentioned I went to Twilight with my friends and Scott was afraid that I was falling in love with Robert Patterson(not sure if last name is right). Well I assured him that I wasn't, that I wasn't in love with Edward the character either. Well our anniversary was about a month after the movie came out and Scott was debating on what to get for me. He wanted something new and fun. What he came up with was a book called Vampire Kisses. (HaHa) Well the book was one he found on line with a company that has a bunch of pre-fab books that you enter names and a few other details about you like favorite drink, restaurant, pets names, etc. Well they put that info into a book and you have your very own book staring you. So for our anniversary I got this book called Vampire Kisses staring me and Scott the vampire. LOL. I opened the package and just started laughing so hard. Scott was grinning from ear to ear and said that Edward had nothin' on him. He's too cute and sweet. I love him tons.

What happened to keeping up on this?

Ok I thought that I would be so good at keeping a blog and adding to it at least once a week. Well let's see that last post was Sept 19th I believe and now it is Nov. 12. Wow time seems to have flown by. Oh well. I guess I will just have to get better. Life is busy and fun. Megan is amazing and is reading and writing all the time. She is sounding out all kinds of words and for the most part is getting them correct. Kaylee is taking it by storm too, she sees what Megan is doing and is catching on so fast. I bought both of them a sight words workbook and they love it and are really doing well with the different words. Elizabeth is wild, crazy, adorable, mischievous, a terror, the cutest thing I have ever seen, smart and reminds me a lot of Megan at that age.
We moved Elizabeth's bed into Megan and Kaylee's bedroom and had fun turning her old room into a fun little reading room/play room. The girls love it. Elizabeth sleeps half the night in her bed and the other half in our bedroom on a little kids couch on the ground.
I'm very excited, this Saturday we get to go to the Temple. Yeah. A guy in our ward was baptized about a year ago and has received his mission call and is going to the Temple to receive his endowments on Saturday. We decided that we wanted to go to support him. Scott's calling works with the Missionaries off and on and he has known Kirk for a while.

We have to drive into Portland and so it turns into an all day event, two hours driving there, three to four hours in Portland and two hours driving back. Luckily we have some great friends who are going to watch the girls for us all day Saturday. Thank you So much Lori and Rich.

I'll have to add pictures later. Sorry for my ramblings I'm sure most of you probably didn't want to spend several minutes reading about it but if you did thanks. Sometimes it helps me organized my thoughts when I can just ramble on and let them all come out. Scott is busy watching his show "Bones" and so this is where I will spill my ramblings.

Tomorrow night I have a performance for the North Coast Chorale-the choir I sing with-it's a community choir. We are actually singing with the Symphony Orchestra and just one song called a Fantasia on Christmas Carols. It's really pretty but there is a soloist and he just can't quite keep pitch or hit the right notes and we've only practiced with the Orchestra once, it's going to be interesting. But I am very excited for our Christmas performances. It will be so fun. We are doing several Gospel type Christmas songs. The theme is the songs of Angels. I am also excited because I have a solo. Ok I am very nervous too. We practiced the song for the first time on Tuesday and luckily it was just with the women for the first time I had to sing. I've had a cold and can't hear anything and my head is so plugged up. Well I was stinkin' nervous but I think I'll be ok and get used to it. Yeah, I am very excited about having a solo, I've always wanted to. Most of the people in the choir are 40s and older and they are so fun and great to sing with. I love it.

Sorry I'll stop now. Look for pics later.

Caterpillars and Spiders(Monster spiders)

Friday after school we were walking home from getting Megan from the school bus, Megan saw this cool looking Caterpillar on the bridge railing. We walked home grabbed the camera and walked back. This is our fun little orange Caterpillar. Megan wanted to keep it as a pet but we decided that it would be better if it could get it's own food because it knows what it eats. Megan didn't want it to die in her care.

It had these really cool black spikes sticking out of it in a couple spots on the back, then it had these long white hairs all around it's body and they were very long.
The girls having fun watching the caterpillar.
Kaylee touching the caterpillar. It's a miracle. If any of you know Kaylee she is usually so scared of any living creeping, crawling creature. Dogs, Cats, Horses, Goats, flies, gnats, spiders, specks of dust that possibly look like it might be a little bug.

I have to say though that lately she has been so very brave and has been touching different bugs. Here she is touching the caterpillar. The other thing she loves to touch lately are slugs. We have a gazillion slugs where we live and they are of all shapes and sizes. We have had some that are about 1-2 inches around and about 5 or more inches long(when it is oozing along). We had one get in our house in the basement through the window(don't know how that was possible), we put it on a wet paper towel and watched it. The girls loved it.

Elizabeth loves to walk around when we are outside looking for "lugs". I love how she says it and everything becomes a slug-dead leaves, dirt, nothing-I'm just thrilled that Kaylee isn't screaming when she sees it and runs far away.

Now on to the spiders. We have a million spiders where we live and they love the trees especially and we have tons of trees right around our house. Scott sprays everywhere on the outside and inside of the house to kill the spiders but it hasn't helped this year. They get to be gigantic.

Elizabeth calls them "monster spiders" and loves to watch them. We've adopted about 7 or more that we have to check on as we walk Megan to the bus and back each day. In the morning there is usually dew drops or it has sprinkled in the night and all the spider webs have dew drops on them and the girls love finding them(not very hard, just open your door and there are a bunch right in your face), they think they are so pretty.

One spider was on our front window last fall and we watched it everyday to see how it was growing. It started out pretty small and then was gigantic in just a couple weeks. The girls loved watching it eat and respin it's web. We have another one in that same spot this year and one out our kitchen window. The one on the kitchen window is the picture I have here. It doesn't look as big as it really is. It's hard getting a picture of a spider on glass when the trees and sun are reflecting in the window.
This is a closeup of the spider. That's from the outside of the house and like I said it reflects the trees really well.

Sack Lunches and Frog Pajamas

Megan is getting sack lunches for school and is loving it. I have a huge pile of brown paper bags and each morning when I make her lunch I draw some picture with her name on the front of the bag. I've also bought a bunch of different foods to put into her lunches so she will actually eat them. She gets picky if we eat the same foods over and over again for lunch and I don't have a way to pack some of the lunch foods she likes so I became creative with food for her. I went to Costco and bought tons of stuff in bulk for her so that it would hopefully last for a while.

Kaylee has been very sad that she isn't getting the sack lunches as well so the other day (I think Monday) I promised her I would make a sack lunch just for her. She requested that I make balloon letters of her name just like I did with Megan's that day and I put flowers on it. She was so excited. She had half of a sandwich in there, a juice box, chips and some fruit and a treat. She loved it so much. She couldn't stop dancing and grinning.

Elizabeth just wanted a juice box.
Kaylee peeking over the bag with excitement, she can't wait to open it and see what's inside.
I love her beautiful smile.
Silly face. I was trying to capture her reaction to her seeing what's inside but instead we got this silly expression. A deer caught in the headlights look.
Ummmmmm, nummy juice boxes. Liz kept shaking hers wanting more and more to come out.

Elizabeth will be 21 months on the 18th of this month. A couple weeks ago we bought a bunch of pajamas for her because her room is cold in the winter and it's getting to be the rainy season when the upstairs will be cold. Our house(we rent from a friend and get a stinkin' amazing deal until we can afford a house in the area which will be probably never) was built in 1890 and has really old windows upstairs and the furnace is in the basement with two vents to the upstairs. One in our bedroom which is on the main floor and one huge vent in the middle of main level-the entry way, living room and kitchen/dining room is all kind of connected- needless to say it just doesn't heat up the upstairs. We have a wood burning stove that works really well in keeping the house warm but keeping it going in the middle of the night doesn't really happen. Anyway we bought her new pjs but I thought it would be a little while until she fit into them because they are 2T.

Well her 24 months pjs are too short on her so we pulled these out on Monday and she loves them. She was so excited about the frogs on them. The feet are frogs too!!! She just looks sooo big to me, I can't believe how big she is now. She is talking galore and saying the funnest things all the time. It just amazes me how she went from a couple babbles to a word, to a couple words then boom straight to these huge long sentences that she puts right in context.
Liz being a cute little froggy. She was ribbiting and jumping around following after her big sister's examples.
They were all being frogs. Kaylee fell back and was giggling right as I took the picture. I think they tried playing leap frog with each other. Liz wanted both Megan and Kaylee to climb on her back so she could carry them around. It was so funny.
Here is the little froggy feet. I think they are so stinkin' cute and I love the color on her.

Tonight she is in her new Monkey pajamas. She didn't get a nap and was so tired that she was falling asleep at dinner and wouldn't eat anything. So I got her pajamas, Scott put them on her and then magically she was wide awake crawling all over the floor acting like a little kitty and pretending to paw my legs. Then she ate all of her dinner super fast and ran around like a monkey. Scott said the pajamas were magic, I believe it!!!!!
